Welcome to the Louisiana Mississippi Wireless Association

In early 2005, we decided that the wireless industry - as represented in the Louisiana and Mississippi markets  - needed a voice.  We needed the strength of a united front.  We needed to band together and be heard on important legal issues , industry standards, policies and regulations that touch or influence our business.  We wanted to make a difference, and do so while communicating that we have the best interest of our communities and our industry in mind.

A small group of people with a heart for adding value to our industry & communities met to discuss their vision in February of 2005.  By early May we had announced the establishment of the Louisiana Mississippi Wireless  Association (LMWA), and we held the association’s kick-off meeting in New Orleans on July 14, 2005.

Since that time, the association has weathered the changes that any organization does – and some that many organizations do not.  Hurricane Katrina’s impact was far-reaching, and left much rallying and recovering to be done in the wake of its aftermath.  Our markets survived, perhaps stronger than ever, and so did our wireless association – with a newfound respect for what unity can accomplish.

The mission of the Louisiana Mississippi Wireless Association is to represent a unified voice for the wireless industry in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi.  We increase general awareness about the wireless industry within our states, educating consumers and the public as to how we serve their needs and add value to our communities.  We provide a platform for relationships -  both for members of the association and industry – as well as public officials or others looking to build relationships within our doors.
